Sarah’s Framing Tips

Framing can add a lot to the cost of gift. Instead, put the art in a mat and let the recipient choose the frame to suit their tastes. You could even include a gift card to a local frame shop. It’s also much better to ship art without the weight and fragility of the frame. If you buy vintage art, if often comes already framed.

Works by Seattle Art Source artists Dodi Frederics, Kris Extrand, Amy Scherer, Maggie Ramierez-Burns, and Kevin Dotolo.

Maggie’s work is about reawakening the senses and the need to preserve natural beauty. Her work is a union of her life experiences, inspirations, and the untimely death of her mother which affected her deeply. Experiencing loss at an early age naturally changed the way she viewed the world. Through creating handmade versions or reusing art from her archive are intentional in her practice, a metaphor for rebirth and renewal. Botanicals and marine vegetation guide her selections in color and theme to create a sense of flow and movement.
