Sarah’s Framing Tips

Framing can add a lot to the cost of gift. Instead, put the art in a mat and let the recipient choose the frame to suit their tastes. You could even include a gift card to a local frame shop. It’s also much better to ship art without the weight and fragility of the frame. If you buy vintage art, if often comes already framed.

Works by Seattle Art Source artists Dodi Frederics, Kris Extrand, Amy Scherer, Maggie Ramierez-Burns, and Kevin Dotolo.

Study of Girl with Headband

$500.00
  • Oil on panel, framed
  • 8″ H x 6″ W

Study of Girl with Headband by Amy Scherer has a quiet, introspective mood. It depicts a softly rendered portrait with downcast eyes, using muted, earthy tones of olive greens, browns, dusky pinks, and grays. The brushwork feels loose and textured, giving it a slightly weathered, dreamlike quality. Overall, it conveys a sense of vulnerability, calm melancholy, and emotional depth, as if capturing a private, inward moment. An elegantly simple oil paint on canvas panel composition, signed by the artist on the back, presented in a simple, lightweight walnut wood frame.
