Back Lydia Bassis Abstract painter Seattle, Washington Lydia Bassis is an abstract painter living and working in Seattle, Washington. She creates paintings that tell stories using an invented language of personal symbols. Working intuitively her paintings explore unseen things in our world, like energy, and experiences that can’t be put into words. Bassis’s work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the United States and is held in many private and public collections. She is the recipient of numerous awards including a grant from 4Culture, a Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Fellowship, and was an Artist in Residence at the Vermont Studio Center in Vermont and The Women’s Studio Workshop in New York. Bassis has an MFA from Rutgers University, a BFA in Printmaking and a BA in Art History from the University of Washington. Portfolio
