Abstract Painter

Seattle, Washington

Allison Rohland is an internationally exhibited abstract artist based in Seattle, Washington. Her work is rooted in the belief that art can be both a mirror and a salve—a way to integrate and celebrate the fragmented parts of ourselves. Through her layered, mixed-media compositions, she explores themes of healing, identity, and emotional connection, creating vibrant visual narratives that speak to the complexity of being human.

Working primarily in emotive abstraction, Allison blends bold textures with vivid color, using paint, collage, and mark-making to create works that feel at once raw and refined. Each piece invites the viewer into a sensory experience—where feeling leads and form follows, and where imperfections are embraced as part of the whole.

Since 2014, Allison has worked as a teaching artist with individuals with intellectual disabilities and Autism, a role that deeply informs her creative ethos. Her time in inclusive classrooms has strengthened her belief in the power of art to connect, uplift, and affirm—values that carry through into her own studio practice.

She currently works out of her home studio in Seattle, where she continues to experiment with materials and process, guided by curiosity, emotion, and a deep respect for the transformative power of art.
