Ash Oaksmith

Landscape Painter

Poulsbo, Washington

Ash Oaksmith paints landscapes shaped by wind, memory, and movement. Drawing on her childhood summers along the Great Lakes, road trips through the Great Plains, and more recently, the sweeping vistas of the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound, her color-saturated works evoke the emotional resonance of place. Each painting begins with a feeling—often the invisible but palpable force of wind moving across land and through time.

A self-taught, fourth-generation artist and seasoned sailor, Ash carries a lifelong reverence for nature’s shifting moods. Whether it’s the chaos of a gale or the calm of still air, she captures these contrasts in vivid, textured compositions she calls “color field landscapes.” With nearly twenty years of painting behind her, Ash’s work is held in private collections throughout the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. She currently paints from her home studio in Poulsbo, Washington.
