Sharon Habib

Abstract Painter

Vancouver, BC

Born in South Africa, Sharon Habib draws inspiration from the textures, patterns, and organic evolution found in cityscapes, aerial landscapes, and the natural decay of the world around us. Though she was mentored by artist Val Gree in South Africa, Sharon is largely self-taught, beginning her artistic journey with a natural inclination toward realism. Over time, she shifted her focus, embracing the boundless world of abstract art. For the past 15 years, her work has been shaped by a love for texture and the balance between form and formlessness—a journey of exploration without boundaries.

Sharon’s abstract paintings have found homes across the UK, USA, Canada, and South Africa. She has exhibited at venues such as the West Vancouver Municipal Hall, Ferry Gallery, and the Harmony Arts Festival in 2011 and 2012. A community-driven artist, Sharon co-founded an Artist’s Meetup group, providing a space for artists to exchange ideas, support one another, and learn together. She now resides with her husband on Canada’s west coast, where she continues to explore and evolve her artistic practice.
