"Flight.Pattern" is an original archival ink drawing on paper by Leslie Stoner, worked on a warm grey sheet within a fine hand-drawn border. Layered bands of her signature maze line rise and fall across the composition in scalloped, wing-like crests, reading at once as rolling waves, gathering clouds, or a flock of wings caught mid-beat. Between them, open stretches of bare paper act as sky, giving the dense, rhythmic linework room to breathe. Look closely and you'll find the word "FLIGHT" tucked into the upper left corner and "PATTERN" at the bottom, marking where the maze begins and ends, a hallmark of Stoner's practice. The forms hover between wing, wave, and wind, exactly the in-between shapes she has long explored from her home on Whidbey Island. Quiet, intricate, and full of motion, it is an intimate 14 x 11 inch piece that rewards slow looking.

Seattle Art Source procures artists for our roster proactively, and we generally do not accept unsolicited submissions. However, we do review all inquiries monthly for potential future projects or open calls.
Due to the high volume of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond individually to every submission. If there is a potential fit now, or in the future, we will reach out to that artist.
However, we love following artists on social, meeting artists at artwalk, hosting community events, and amplifying art content.
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase and are happy to help resolve any issues once your artwork is received.
Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of our artwork, pieces may be exchanged for Seattle Art Source credit within 3 days of purchase, provided the work is returned in the condition it was received.
Non-commissioned artwork purchased online is eligible for an exchange within 7 days of receipt. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.
