"Red Dahlias" places its blooms in a garden that is more mood than setting — the foliage fragmented into angular planes of deep green, chartreuse, and near-black that press in from every direction, while three dahlias in crimson and soft pink move through the composition with a looseness that feels caught rather than arranged. The petals range from vivid red at the center to pale blush at the tips, and Scherer allows the brushwork to remain visible throughout, the marks describing petals and leaf with equal economy. Against the dark, fractured ground the red is quietly fierce — not shouting, but impossible to overlook.

Seattle Art Source procures artists for our roster proactively, and we generally do not accept unsolicited submissions. However, we do review all inquiries monthly for potential future projects or open calls.
Due to the high volume of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond individually to every submission. If there is a potential fit now, or in the future, we will reach out to that artist.
However, we love following artists on social, meeting artists at artwalk, hosting community events, and amplifying art content.
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase and are happy to help resolve any issues once your artwork is received.
Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of our artwork, pieces may be exchanged for Seattle Art Source credit within 3 days of purchase, provided the work is returned in the condition it was received.
Non-commissioned artwork purchased online is eligible for an exchange within 7 days of receipt. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Please note: Commissioned artwork, sale items, and photography prints are final sale and not eligible for exchange.
