Self Portrait on Deck is a rare self-portrait by exceptionally private artist Amy Scherer, (she's not on social media, and very few photos exist of her online). Her self portrait study is an elegantly simple composition in acrylic on archival paper, with bold saturated blues and greens, offsetting a muted subject with subtle filtered light. She uses a redactive technique resulting in a minimal amount of paint that creates a maximum amount of emotion. This work is hand-signed by the artist on the back.
