"Shadow.Blooms II" fills most of its sheet with Leslie Stoner's intricate, hand-drawn maze line: thousands of tight, looping paths in archival ink flow across the paper like water over stone, divided by a few bold, winding contours that read as riverbanks or fault lines. Near the bottom, two dark blooms in oil sit side by side, their mottled black surfaces softly textured where the paint met the paper. A narrow band of open cream paper along the top and a few small pools within the pattern give the eye somewhere to rest. The drawing rewards close looking: from a distance it reads as a landscape seen from above, and up close it becomes pure rhythm and repetition. Offered unframed on deckled paper and signed by the artist, it is a striking piece for collectors drawn to contemplative, black and white work.

Seattle Art Source procures artists for our roster proactively, and we generally do not accept unsolicited submissions. However, we do review all inquiries monthly for potential future projects or open calls.
Due to the high volume of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond individually to every submission. If there is a potential fit now, or in the future, we will reach out to that artist.

Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of our artwork, pieces may be exchanged for Seattle Art Source credit within 3 days of purchase, provided the work is returned in the condition it was received.
Non-commissioned artwork purchased online is eligible for an exchange within 7 days of receipt. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.
