"Soft.Ascension" is the boldest of Leslie Stoner's new watercolor works, its entire composition set within a deep black border that frames the image like a window. Inside, five blooms in blush, rose, and warm taupe tumble up from the lower edge, their soft watercolor washes darkening to smoky, inky centers flecked with gold and white. Unlike Stoner's fine-line flowers, these petals are shaped by the watercolor itself, their edges outlined in ink to hold the bloom of the pigment. Behind them, long sweeping leaf forms of bare white paper curve upward through a dense field of hand-drawn maze line, carrying the eye toward the top of the sheet. "SOFT" at the upper left and "ASCENSION" at the lower right mark the path between. Rich in contrast yet gentle in palette, this original 14 x 11 inch ink and watercolor on paper feels both dramatic and tender.

Seattle Art Source procures artists for our roster proactively, and we generally do not accept unsolicited submissions. However, we do review all inquiries monthly for potential future projects or open calls.
Due to the high volume of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond individually to every submission. If there is a potential fit now, or in the future, we will reach out to that artist.
However, we love following artists on social, meeting artists at artwalk, hosting community events, and amplifying art content.
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase and are happy to help resolve any issues once your artwork is received.
Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of our artwork, pieces may be exchanged for Seattle Art Source credit within 3 days of purchase, provided the work is returned in the condition it was received.
Non-commissioned artwork purchased online is eligible for an exchange within 7 days of receipt. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Please note: Commissioned artwork, sale items, and photography prints are final sale and not eligible for exchange.
