Seattle Artist Seth Sexton’s Hyper-Detailed Pen and Ink Drawings

Seattle Art Source is proud to spotlight fine artist Seth Sexton. His hyper-detailed pen and ink drawings blend meditative practice with the study of indigenous wisdom. Raised on a farm in Chimacum, Washington, Sexton’s path wound through ballet, biochemistry, and a BFA in painting at the University of Washington. Later, there was a formative collaboration with metal artist Cathy McClure (under the name SID INC.). He also spent three years immersed in Mayan ritual and indigenous arts in Panajachel, Guatemala.

His intricate compositions invite contemplation. They merge visual art, ritual, and performance. This work has been featured at Seattle institutions including Velocity Dance Center, On the Boards, Jack Straw New Media Gallery, Hedreen Gallery, Soil Gallery, and Bumbershoot.
