"The Lost Hour" by Zachary Schomburg is a richly layered work in house paint on raw canvas — the paint soaking into the unprimed surface in a way that softens edges and diffuses color into something closer to weather than image. A luminous central mass of pale green, yellow, and blush rises from a dark, fragmented lower register of black, teal, and scattered marks, the whole composition suggesting a landscape glimpsed through failing light or the residue of a dream that hasn't quite dissolved. It is Schomburg at his most intuitive — the poet's instinct for the image that arrives just beyond articulation, held in paint and the particular absorbency of unprimed canvas.

Seattle Art Source procures artists for our roster proactively, and we generally do not accept unsolicited submissions. However, we do review all inquiries monthly for potential future projects or open calls.
Due to the high volume of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond individually to every submission. If there is a potential fit now, or in the future, we will reach out to that artist.
However, we love following artists on social, meeting artists at artwalk, hosting community events, and amplifying art content.
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase and are happy to help resolve any issues once your artwork is received.
Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of our artwork, pieces may be exchanged for Seattle Art Source credit within 3 days of purchase, provided the work is returned in the condition it was received.
Non-commissioned artwork purchased online is eligible for an exchange within 7 days of receipt. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Please note: Commissioned artwork, sale items, and photography prints are final sale and not eligible for exchange.
