News Event Form Over Function: Held Together, Artist Panel 10/22/26 Posted on October 7, 2026October 8, 2026 by Mackenzie Smith Feeling in the Doing: Pleasure, Attention and the Figure “The work begins with how fully we feel it.” Seattle Art Source presents Feeling in the Doing, the first of two artist panels for Form Over Function: Held Together, our Third Annual Exhibition. The title borrows a phrase from Audre Lorde’s essay “Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power”. In it, she writes about the deep satisfaction of doing something with full attention and feeling. Sarah Hurt, co-curator, hosts a conversation with artists Becca Fuhrman and Kelly Bjork about the pleasure of making. The discussion includes what it means to really look at a body, where attention turns into intimacy, and how the joy and the labor of painting find their way into the work on our walls. Expect an open, unhurried conversation about process, vulnerability and what keeps these artists coming back to the figure. Panelists: Becca Fuhrman and Kelly Bjork, hosted by Sarah Hurt. Form Over Function: Held Together is on view through November 21st. In addition, a portion of proceeds goes to Lifelong Health for All. Feeling in the Doing: Pleasure, Attention and the Figure Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 6 to 7pm, Doors 5:30pm 5531 Airport Way South Join the conversation and see the work up close! RSVP below.
